Founded in 1997, Julie & Company, LLC is a marketing consulting and web design firm located in the Washington, DC area. Washington Business Forward magazine has twice named Julie & Company one of the top web design companies in the DC area, saying the firm is "passionate about its work and produces clean, unique designs."

That's the standard marketing blurb. The truth is that the Julie in Julie & Company is Julie Matthews Burnette, and the Company is a range of other professionals who are ready to work on your marketing or web design project.

So what is Julie's story?

Julie has been designing and developing websites for high-tech companies and other organizations for ten years — virtually a lifetime in the web world.

She also has over 20 years of experience in high-technology corporate communications and marketing. Julie:

  • Serves as the President and Chief Creative Officer of Julie & Company, LLC, which has been named three times as one of the top interactive design firms in Washington.

  • Possesses over 20 years of experience in creating unique, visually compelling, and highly effective branding, web design, graphic design, and other corporate communications projects.

  • Has created websites since 1995 – a virtual lifetime in the web world.

  • Before founding Julie & Company, worked for five years as the marketing director for an international software company with over 1.4 million users at 40,000 installations worldwide. Produced marketing materials and campaigns for domestic and international marketplaces, including the United Kingdom, Europe, Israel, Australia, Latin America, and Asia. Also worked for several technology firms in the Washington, DC metro area providing marketing, corporate communications, and technical writing services.

  • Won two international Adrian Advertising awards from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International.

  • For a genealogy business, designed an e-commerce website that was named one of the top 100 genealogy websites by Family Tree magazine.

  • Is expert in both Macintosh-based and PC-based design and web technologies, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXPress, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Flash, Macromedia Fireworks, and many more.

  • Earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Writing from the University of Maryland.

Most of all, she's making lots of people successful all over the DC area and beyond.
